Sadly enough my laptop has finally died. My beloved little samsung notebook fought to the end but it only lasted 2 years or so. I've gotten a hold of a Lenovo now as well as a brand new camcorder and tripod so I can make videos finally!
I'm so excited you guys! It's going to be amazing. I've set up practically everything on my new laptop although I must say that windows 8 is rather a pain in the butt. I'll get used to it I'm sure. Cheers!

Finally watched Sherlock
I have been stuck inside for a few days because of a mixture of sickness and weather. My road is frozen, I've had to cancel work and so I find myself going about the internet. I'm sure most people know of the BBC series Sherlock?
Well I've read the original stories by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle and for some time I was pretty against the newer series. It's not that I had an aversion to the actors, just the idea of placing Sherlock in a modern setting. Due to the horrible weather and the fact that I've been pressed to do so for some time, I have finally started watching Sherlock on Netflix. Of course me being ignorant about it (I usually like things others don't), I was skeptical at first as always.
So far I think I'm a fan. I've always enjoyed Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman so I really have no idea why I looked over this show in the first place.
The modern twist on Sherlock is amazing! It's like the original in ways but of course with more forensics (and probably less drug use though I haven't gotten that far yet). If any of you didn't know, in the original Sherlock Holmes novels there are many instances of the great man taking drugs so he could calm himself. A mind like that is always running you know? Anyway, I'm hoping the weather relaxes enough for me to get out and look into a camera which I finally have enough money for. If not then I'll be sitting here on my bed sipping Earl Grey and watching Sherlock until I run out of episodes.

Elysia

An Introduction of Sorts...
Hello All!
My name is Elysia Harlow or at least that is what I'd prefer to be called. I started this blog on a whim, deciding to share my thoughts and feelings with people I don't interact with on a daily basis. I live in an undisclosed location within the United States of America. I'll even narrow it down for you a bit, I live on the East Coast. I'm a science major (Biology/Chemistry) and yet I find myself longing for the embrace of freelance journalism. I hope you all enjoy this little slice of me (this blog).
